Stene also worked with Green Carnation on their album Journey to the End of the Night (1999).
When she is not occupied with her musical duties, Vibeke likes to knit, read, and spend time with her friends and family. She is an introvert, but quite friendly to talk to, as say journalists who have interviewed the classically trained singer.
Vibeke has been taking classic singing lessons since she was thirteen and met the band, Tristania, during her first years in high school.
There was a rumour started up around the time that Nightwish was to reveal the identity of their new singer to replace Tarja Turunen, that Vibeke was to replace Turunen's duties. Immediately, Vibeke discredited the rumour in an interview saying, "I am not the new singer in Nightwish."
